Not from Ok, but love Christmas. I grew up in a Jewish family and so never really did Christmas until an adult. Now, at 46, it's the best time of the year. We have no parents left so can just please ourselves. We lock ourselves away, bring down our old Atari and Amiga and play retro games. Watch only fools and horses, and spend 10 days just with each other - lovely. Lu UK

I want a little more context for this quote. Does he mean that they are "dead" long before their actual death, or does he mean that their impact is still felt long after they are dead?

He means they haven't really LIVED. They are just getting by, not making the most of life. It's not about their impact, although that would be an interesting interpretation.
I just thought of something. I wonder how many people in history died before age 26 and made a historical impact? There's King Tut, of course, but he's just remembered because of the way he happened to be buried. Can you think of any more?
