Hello friend. I can't read your language but I send you good wishes.
---
---

They said, "drift bottle experiment #1"

:D

By the way, if you can see Asian characters (some might only get boxes), you can get an idea of their meaning by using Babelfish (find the link from the Oceangram blog under the "translation tools" section).

To decide what language the characters are,
here's a rule of thumb:

1. If you see more curvy characters like this
"これは日本語である", the language is Japanese. (See the loops on the bottom of some of the characters?)

2. There are two kinds of Chinese, simplified and traditional. Most Chinese characters you find here are simplified (from China).
"这是汉语"
So put in the characters on Babelfish and choose "Chinese-simp" on the drop-down menu and see what you get. If there are characters not translated, try "Chinese-trad" and see what happens.

You should be able to get an IDEA of what they are saying (machine translation is notoriously bad, but it's better than nothing). : )

誰かを愛することって、大切ですよね : Loving Someone, I am Important

ただ生きているだけで死にたくなる瞬間がある。
その瞬間がどれだけ続くのか恐ろしくなる時がある。
だが何も考えない。

Why do I wonder if foreign people are accessing this site, they probably can read and write in English?
---
I'd hate to see their key-board!
---
umm pie :)
---
This is an international site. Can you not show some patience for other people? Do they have to know your own language when you do not try to learn another? I myself speak 6 different lanhuages, and I am sorry I did not master any oriental one yet...
---
:) Just pass it on to someone who can understand it . Just leave a :)

we don't want hostile people on this ocean

It might say something beautiful. :)

hehehe im beautiful :)
i no every1 who reads this wil love me coz im AUSTRALIAN!!!! :):):)

生きることはつらいけど

誰かを愛することって、
大切ですよね

Great! I wait for fifteen minutes and I can't even read the stupid message! >:(
---
While both of the boxed messages are Japanese language, I could not get a good translation on the original sender's message. The next box message translates with lovely thoughts of living with balance and love in our lives which will make us strong. I implore all of you oceangram lovers to go to a free translation site (do a google) and try your hand at copying and pasting the boxes to the translator. You will not always get a great translation--but sometimes you will, and you will realize that it was worth the effort to try. Happy translating!! Lynne at bottleparty PA USA 10-25-06

wo ist meine oma?
wo ist meine mutter?
I'm learming german:)
---
Here's the translation I received for the first one:

"There is the moment when I want to die just to live.
There is time becoming terrible. Where does the moment lead?
But I think about nothing."

Here's the second:

"If I can love somebody though it is hard, with that alone I am strong, and I can live my life.

Loving somebody,
I am important."

Just an aside.... does UK spend all his/her time at this game or is someone else using their name? It seems that every second bottle has s name in it

I was born in Germany because my dad was in the army, but I only know a few words. I now live in a German town - Boerne (pronounced burnee) TX
Angie

Guten tag jasmin. Wie ghet es Ihnen? Ich bin Dan aus Illinois, USA. (I hope that's right - haven't been in German class for a few years)
---
Golly, you guys are doing okay. I lived in Germany for 3 years as a dependent, but don't remember any German cuz no one here speaks it. Oregon 10-27-06
Guten tag!

I think UK is a country, not a person.....United Kingdom? My Grandfather was from Germany, but he was born in Russia while his parents were on vacation. Late 1870"s, so he had dual citizenship until age 21, and later migrated to America and became an American citizen.

why do Americans ALWAYS have to mention God or Jesus???
Bonjour de Nouvelle Zélande aussi!
---
No French crap here!! Global language = English.
---
Intimidated because you can't understand? So sorry, why don't you try learning another language or maybe just being tolerant of other people? Pass it on if it bugs you. No one's forcing you to read it.

I don't really speak French, but a quick check with Babelfish says that the first poster was saying hello and her name is Lille.

The second bit of French says something about being from Chicago and it being Friday and have a good weekend (something like that)

Kia Ora means hello in Maori, by the way.

One of the above says hello and goodbye and their name is Aiga.

Ok, satisfied? Continue speaking whatever language you wish.

Have a great day!

Bonjour from New Zealand lol... there has been a lot of french in this message! good thing i can speak french lol....Au Revoir oct 5 06

The question was asked "why do Americans ALWAYS have to mention God or Jesus?" I personally think it is because America has a lot of Christians; we also have a lot who aren't. But, for those of us who are, Christ is LOVE and He just flows out in an attempt to love others, in other words, He wants you to know His love for you!
---
I learned french but still don't understand it, maybe because I don't like that language - no offense :-)
Wish you all a wonderful day.

Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky tacky
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes all the same,
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.

Rough translation: Today I had the first kiss of my life and I am 10 years old and I love the world, the sea, and things. When my father wakes me and says to me "Good morning, my princess" he looks at me and says, "I wish your mother could see her clone eyes". And I just smile because I don't know what "clone" means, hehehe. I love the world and that's it. Let's take care of it like my father takes care of me.

¡Que Bueno!
